New updates to both iDyl/Vnodes and Base/Links are available
Hi,
There are updates to both DF Solutions product platforms available:
iDyl/VNode: V4.48 is now available from
http://www.dfsolutions.co.uk/oldsite/firmware.htm
There is a change on startup so both Vnode and iDyl synchronize their system clocks from the internet (internet connection required of course).
This will prevent a couple (potentially other) of issues from arising:
1) When iDyl and VNodes have different system clocks, the VNode may decide it's local cache of available movies is NEWER than the iDyl's, when this is not the case
2) If the system clock is very wrong, you can have problems downloading album and movie reviews from the internet.
There is also a manual System Clock Edit screen, accessed via Master Control Panel->Advanced Settings->System Settings->Set System Clock
BETA Base/Link updates are now online (access these via POWER, then 3 on your IR remote).
The change list includes:
* Local Picture Browsing and Slideshow Display: A much asked for feature, the functionality is vastly improved over the iDyl's Picture capabilities:
* You can browse pictures located on your Base (add photos to \\base\pictures)
* You can add a 'Managed Network Share' to a NAS device (ie \\MyNAS\pictures) via the Base Control Panel->System Settings->Manage Picture Networked Folders' (same applies to links)
* You can insert a USB stick directly to a USB port and browse photos on that
* Browsing is trivial, you can drill down through folders, and press PLAY when you highlight a folder to start a slideshow of everything within that folder, or select a picture and press OK to bring up Advanced options.
* REMEMBER, you will need to turn on this feature via Master Control Panel->Custom GUI Settings first of all
* Home Page when viewing an RSS Item is set to BLANK (instead of the Google home page)
* Sound Issue was fixed when changing the Base GUI from Zone 1 to a different zone, and then trying to view a YouTube video.
* Increased a system timeout so Base no longer thinks a networked file is not available, when the NAS device is merely slow to respond (due to NAS or slow network).
* The gap when changing from one audio track to the next has been reduced from 80 to 3 milliseconds (offering quasi-gapless playback capability)
* Deletion of movies through Base/Link now works even if the movie folder is set to 'Read Only'.
