Installing AnyDVD for when distributing video or Blu-ray playback through dual-displays.
Solution Please Note: These instructions are only for use on the setup of dual/multiple displays with DF Solutions Base Media Server, in regions where this is legally permissible.

Preliminary: As you know the Base Media Server supports dual-displays and multi-room video distribution. With this setup, modern movie copy-protection can create an HDCP or Macro-vision error, resulting in a Blank screen.
However if 3rd party software is installed (AnyDVD from www.slysoft.com) it will run in the background and prevent any HDCP/macro-vision error from occuring.

To install and enable AnyDVD, please follow the instructions below(IN ORDER):

1. Upgrade your Base Media Server to the latest version (press Power, then 2 as a shortcut to the firmware update screen). The Base must be on at least version 5.0.0.1208 (check this via the 'View System Info' screen, under Settings, accessed via 'PC Power', then '1')
2. Go to www.slysoft.com and purchase a lifetime (must be lifetime edition) edition of AnyDVD HD. As a result of this you will get a license key in the form of Key.AnyDVDHD.
3. Download the latest setup file for AnyDVDHD also from www.slysoft.com. It will be called SetupAnyDVD****.exe
4. You need a USB Memory Stick. Create a folder on it called DFInstall - Put your license key into the DFInstall folder
5. Put a copy of SetupAnyDVD****.exe into the DFInstall folder
6. Download 'AddinApps.zip' from 'Downloads>Misc Software' - this will contain 3 files, AddinApps.reg, KillAnyDVDTray.bat and zAnyDVD.reg
7. Place these 3 files inside the DFInstall folder.
8. Now take the USB memory stick and plug it into any USB slot on the Base.
9. The software will be auto-installed and the Base will restart. Please remove the USB key at this point.

Even though AnyDVD has now been installed, we still want to edit a setting to avoid a message box appearing in front of the GUI when a new AnyDVD version is detected:
10. Download a copy of Tightvnc from http://www.tightvnc.com/download.html
11. Install Tightvnc viewer onto a network PC
12. Open the viewer and connect to ‘base’ the password is ‘dfsolutions’
13. If the AnyDVD screen is showing on screen. Click ‘OK’ on the message sitting above the Anydvd screen. If AnyDVD is not on screen press the button for Ctrl-Alt-Delete and choose ‘New Task’ and type explorer and press enter. Click on
Desktop on left hand side. Double click on Anydvd icon.
14. Click on Program Settings on the Anydvd screen.
15. Ensure ‘Automatically check for new AnyDVD version’ Is unchecked.
16. Click 'Ok' the Anydvd screen.

Updates for anydvd are periodically available from www.slysoft.com.

To keep the software on the Base up to date download the new SetupAnyDVD****.exe, replace the older version on your memory stick and then put the memory stick into the Base for auto-install.
